Two Saeima sitting / day will take place on Thursday
The extraordinary meeting, which will take place on May 8 at 10 am, will be discussed in the Latvian Fiscal Plan 2025-2028 progress report of 2025.
At the end of the extraordinary meeting, the Saeima will gather for the regular meeting of May 8.
It has already been reported that the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has submitted to the European Commission (EC) in cooperation with the first Latvian Fiscal Structural Plan 2025-2028 progress report and its additional appendix prepared by the Ministry of Economics.
Development of the document stems from the new European Union legislation in the field of economic governance. The progress report of the Latvian Fiscal Structural Plan 2025-2028 and its progress report essentially replaces the previously annual stability program and the National Reform Program.
The report was previously approved by the Cabinet and presented it to Members of the Saeima’s European Affairs Committee. According to the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers, in addition to this, information on fiscal indicators was accompanied by a separate annex after the publication of the « Eurostat » general government budget deficit and debt.
