Two people with monkey measles in the country, labs are confirmed in IPH
The Institute of Public Health informs that today for the first time in our country, two cases of MonkeyPox – monkey measles have been confirmed.
The PHI Institute of Public Health informs that the Clinic for Skin Diseases has been referred to two patients suspected for MonkeyPox – monkey measles and has also been designated to perform an examination for HIV, syphilis and herpes.
– The Institute of Public Health has carried out laboratory tests in 3 different ways that have confirmed two cases of MonkeyPox – Monkey
measles. For the first time in our country, MonkeyPox – Monkey Measles, after the results, were immediately responded quickly, appropriate measures were taken and the competent institutions, the Ministry of Health, the Clinic of Skin Diseases, Infectious Clinic and others were reported.
According to the protocols after receiving the notification, the doctor who received the patients informed the patients about the results obtained. Then comes an epidemiological survey by epidemiologists from the Institute of Public Health.
– Experts epidemiologists from IPH have returned to work and approached the epidemiological survey of both persons, in order to obtain data that would be extremely important for further action. The survey is still in progress. It will be recommended that positive patients call an infectious clinic – IPH informs.
The Institute of Public Health will continue to monitor the situation and informs that there is no room for panic right now, as all necessary measures are being taken quickly and timely.
– All institutional capacity to overcome the consequences of this phenomenon and all preventive measures are taken tonight. More detailed information to the public will follow tomorrow – IPH said.
