Two new Lidl stores opened in Kaunas
Both shop openings in Kaunas received a lot of attention and buyers’ interest. On the opening mornings, the congregation were served with drinks and sweets, and they were given multiple, special opening bags and access to special opening offers.
Convenient location in Žaliakalnis
The new shop is located in the middle of Žaliakalnis eldership, at the intersection of Savanorių Avenue and Utena Street, which will allow both residents of the entire eldership and those on these busy city streets to be located from both streets. The store will be open daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. This shop has also become an anniversary Lidl store in Lithuania-the 80th store in the country.
The shop in the central part of Kaunas city is also distinguished by its architectural solutions – this store will be the third store in Lithuania. It is a Metropol -type shop with a parking lot on the ground floor and a shopping hall on the second floor, where the buyers will take the escalator. This type of store buildings is adapted to the centers of major cities, thus efficiently exploiting the city area.
There are as many as 107 parking spaces for cars – 55 locations are scheduled for an outdoor parking lot, and the remaining 52 is under the store in the building. There are also 15 electric car charging stations at the store.

Lidl also contributed to the improvement of local infrastructure during the construction of the store. Renewed carriageway coating on Savanorių Avenue, Utena and Nasturturus streets, as well as pedestrian paths, reconstructed trolleybus contact network, installing new supports with lighting. Contributing to more convenient public transport travel, a public transport stop on Utena Street has been reconstructed – the bus and trolleybus entry has been expanded, which made the whole street safer and more comfortable for traffic. Lidl also allocated part of the store plot in the implementation of this infrastructure improvement.
Exclusive architecture shop in Vilijampole
The store, which will be distinguished by non -standard architectural solutions, is located in the sewing workshop building of the former fur processing factory, located in the middle of Vilijampolė eldership, near the intersection of Raudondvaris highway and Brastos Street, which will allow both residents of Vilijampolė and Raudondvaris. The new shop will wait daily from 8am to 10pm.
The new Lidl store was integrated in the reconstructed non -residential building, which used to be a sewing workshop « Wolf », was re -planned, and a new annex was built on the ground floor, thus adapting the premises as convenient trade activities as possible. The store also has a non -standard architecture – the refurbished facade of the entire building, and facade tiles were used instead of the standard decorative plaster.
Lidl also contributed to the improvement of local infrastructure – Raudondvaris highway repairs were carried out alongside the new shop, installing parking spaces and entries. These parking spaces will be designed for Lidl buyers, providing even smoother shopping.
On the occasion of the opening – a gift to the communities of Žaliakalnis and Vilijampolė
On the occasion of the opening of the Lidl stores, special gifts for the communities of Žaliakalnis and Vilijampolė – traveled tours under the Žaliakalnis and Vilijampolė district and their surroundings. They were prepared together with Lidl by Kaunas guide Laimonas Užomeckis and hiking professionals « Throaturas ». The distance of the hike under Žaliakalnis is about 15 kilometers and Vilijampolė is about 8 kilometers. Both routes include both nature and city objects.
The routes of the hike can be found on the Linksturo website and on the mobile app, as well as on the stores, where you just need to scan the QR code and start the hike. These hike routes will not only give you a walk on the historic streets of Kaunas, but the detailed descriptions of the guide prepared by the guide will allow you to find out a wealth of useful information that will surprise even Kaunas residents themselves.
