Two major accidents in the same street in Ghent: drunken director (22) addresses havoc (Ghent)

The serious accident happened on Sunday morning just before 6.30 am. At the parking to the Aldi on the Dendermondsesteenweg, a young motorist lost control of the steering wheel of his blue Volkswagen. He crashed against three parked cars, which bumped into a house and caused damage to the facade.

The emergency services were quickly on site. The driver was slightly injured to the hospital. Next to him, three others were slightly injured. « He took a positive saliva test, » says Clio Van Peteghem, police spokeswoman. « The fire brigade arrived on site to clean the road surface. The street was at least partially closed for a while due to the accident. » A traffic expert was appointed.

Scooter

On Friday evening, a man on a scooter (37) was seriously injured on the Dendermondsesteenweg. That happened in an accident with a passenger car. The victim was not in danger. A detour was provided on site. The circumstances of that accident are also being investigated.
