A 60-year-old man from Klagenfurt drowned in the St. Johann bathing lake in the Rosental (Klagenfurt-Land district) on Saturday evening.
A lifeguard in St. Johann im Rosental found clothes, money, personal items and a car key on the lawn around 7.30 a.m. He informed the police. Several fire brigades in the area, water rescue and the police searched for the missing person with the support of a helicopter and drones. At around 11.20 a.m., divers found the 60-year-old lifeless at the bottom of the lake and broke the body.
A couple from the Feldkirchen district were swimming in the Flatschacher See at 10.50 a.m. when the 85-year-old woman suddenly complained of breathing difficulties and screamed for help. Her husband and a woman coming from the shore baren the unconscious swimmer from the lake and started resuscitation. The 85-year-old could no longer be revived by the rescue workers, the police said.
