Two dead, more injured – among them child
A serious car accident occurred in the village of Petelinje in the municipality of Pivka, in which two people died, two seriously injured, and one of them is a child, and were transported separately to the Ljubljana University Clinical Center by helicopter, reporting media at the Koper Police Directorate. The main road Postojna-Pivka is closed at Rooster.
Police officers were informed about a car accident just before 5 pm, the Koper Police Directorate told STA.
The accident occurred after driving BMW and Honda vehicles from Postojna towards Pivka, and opposite the Mazda brand, whose driver drove to the opposite direction and collided in BMW. The Honda driver drove off the carriageway to avoid the collision.
The main road Postojna – Pivka is closed at Petelinje. There is no detour. The road will be closed for a long time.

The Mazda driver with Carniola registration, born in 1959, died at the scene of the accident, as well as a companion, born in 1960, sitting behind. The passenger, born in 1946, sitting in the front, was transported to UKC Ljubljana by helicopter.
The BMW driver, born in 1979, was taken to the Ljubljana Clinical Center with an ambulance to the Ljubljana Clinical Center, and a child in this car, born in 2015, was taken there with another helicopter.
The Hondo Postojna registration was, meanwhile, drove a driver born in 1995, which did not injure in the accident – only the vehicle was damaged, the Koper Police Directorate said.
The main road Postojna-Pivka is closed at Petelinje, so it will be a long time, according to the Traffic Information Center for State Roads. There is no detour, the deadlock occurs in both directions.
