Two 18-year-olds arrested after second stabbing on Koningin Astridplein in Antwerp (Antwerp)

Two 18-year-old men were arrested after the big fighting and stabbing on Astridplein on Monday evening. They are suspected of attempting manslaughter and forbidden weaponage.
The Antwerp police received a big fight on Koningin Astridplein on Easter Monday, at Central Station. Four people then walked up stab wounds and were taken to the hospital, nobody was in danger.
The police were able to arrest a total of seven people. Six of them were brought before the investigating judge on Tuesday, who decided to arrest two suspects. It concerns two 18-year-olds of Afghan descent. The two had a knife. « The suspects have been arrested for attempted manslaughter and prohibited weapons, » says public prosecutor Kristof Aerts.

The two men appear on Friday before the council chamber. He must decide on their further arrest. Whether the two are also eligible for the earlier major fight at Central Station, last Wednesday, is not yet clear. Both incidents would be part of a larger conflict between two groups.
