He had been in Iceland a few years when he was called in the German army. « My mom got a letter of guarantee announcing that I was called in the army. I lived in Iceland, had just bought an apartment, a small child came and I was indebted. Memory.

Rüdiger’s father fought for four years in Russia during World War II. « A few years ago I got his diary from the Russian years and I published a small book with the diary entries. I cried when I read the last pages.

Dad smuggled footage from the fronts, and there are 180 photographs he took. In 1953, it was decided that he and his school brothers from the 1921 cohort would meet. Of the 200 boys, two, Dad and the other met.

In Russia, Dad was in a 52 degree frost. The frost never left his body and he picked up warm and good weather. He was a great Italy and we spent every year for three to five weeks in Italy. «
