Visual Disorders became a danger signal

« One night, I and my friends had fun celebrating my fiancé Bryson Lohbeck's promotion. I went to bed, but woke up after only one hour of sleep because I was going to meet my mother early the next morning, » said Allison, from Newport Beach, California, according to The Sun.

« I just thought I was a hangover. My vision was really bad, as if I were on a boat. It felt as if my field of vision was swirling around quickly and was unstable. When it was no longer just my peripheral sight, I knew something was wrong. »

Allison has revealed that her headache was getting worse and eventually she couldn't even read the form she got from the doctor.

« My fiancé had to fill it for me – so badly my view was on the left eye. I was lucky that my doctor believed in me and took it seriously, » she said.

The shocking diagnosis

The doctor ordered an MRI scan, but Allison did not expect anything to be wrong when she had never had health problems before. Furthermore, no one in her family had similar illnesses.

« They immediately looked at the MRI scan and told me I had a brain tumor in the occipita lobe. I went into shock – I couldn't believe it, » she said.

« I thought the doctor would say I was missing vitamins or had some kind of headache. I had never imagined it could be a brain tumor. »

The doctors explained that her brain was raised, which worsened her vision.

« A week later I was operated on – and it was absolutely crazy, because I had never had an operation before, » the 20 -year -old woman said.

Surgery and treatment

After the diagnosis of August 2 last year, Allison underwent a three -hour operation on August 8 at Loma Linda University Medical Center in California. The surgeons removed the 4 cm tumor, after which she began a six -week course of chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Allison's headache started as early as December 2022 while attending her first year in college. But when they were not regular, she simply thought it was caused by PMS (premenstrual syndrome) or lack of caffeine.

A month before her city tour, she experienced a spin on one side of the body and nausea, but when the symptoms quickly disappeared, she no longer thought about it. After the city tour, her 'wobbly sight' spread from one corner of the left eye to her entire field of view.

It saved her life

Allison is of the clear view that it was her hangover who saved her life when she would otherwise have postponed to go to the doctor.

« Around July 2024, I got the tingling on the left side and blurred vision. I ignored my headaches because I thought they were caused by PMS – so it's important to trust her gut feeling, » she said.

« I had a feeling that something was wrong and I'm glad I listened to it. They hangover saved my life. I never expected it to be cancer. You never think it happens to yourself – you think you have to be older or unhealthy to have serious health problems. »

Now Allison is free from his headache and is doing well. She has chosen to share her story to encourage others to take unexplained symptoms seriously.

« My biggest advice is: If you have symptoms, then don't ignore them. Too often we flip symptoms and think we are exaggerating. If I hadn't gone to the doctor, I might not be here today. If your doctor doesn't take you seriously, find another doctor, » she said.
