Turku was the busiest terrace day for spring – now it’s worth enjoying the warmth, soon it’s cool

Turku The terrace season seems to have opened by Wednesday at the latest when the sun and the heat have been exceptionally high in the Aura River.

The current spring heat record was broken on Wednesday in Rauma, where the meter reading pained at 22.9 degrees at 4pm.

The second warmest reading of the spring was measured on Wednesday at the Turku Airport measurement point: 21.9 degrees.

At least Turku Restaurant Tårget has been the busiest terrace day this spring today, even though it has been sitting out for about a couple of weeks.

« There has been enough bustle and bustle today, » says working in Tårget Marina Tenho.

There were plenty of people on the Tårget terrace, especially during lunch, and in the early evening there was an afterwork people.

Turku heat has also been reflected in customer drinking orders.

« It seemed to be on the tables on some ladies, » Tenho says.

Tintå, a restaurant on the Aura River, has also ordered several Aperol Spritz and Limoncello Spritz drinks today. Summer weather has also caused congestion in Tintå.

« Without the jacket, people have been in t-shirts, » the restaurant comments.

April The temperature has been exceptional, says a meteorologist on duty at the Finnish Meteorological Institute Eetu Rimo.

Those who want to go to the terraces should start moving now, as the weather will cool down throughout the country for the rest of the week.

Until Thursday, the temperature may run close to 20 degrees, at least in the central part of the country and at the height of Oulu, says Rimo. However, the temperature is affected by whether the weather remains clear.

For Easter, the weather cools down. On Friday, a front will arrive from the north that will bring rain to the southern and central parts of the country.

On Saturday, the temperature in the southern and central parts of the country can be everything between 10 and 17 degrees, and from zero to ten degrees in Lapland. On Sunday, the whole country will be around ten degrees.

« It doesn’t seem likely to be over 20 degrees for the weekend, » Rimo says.
