Tulip Paradise in Lithuania: Gardeners are happy with change
The gardeners of the manor say they did not fight against nature, but are happy with the changes in the weather and the cool coolness that promises long and prolonged tulip blooms.
In mid -April, the weather suddenly warmed the tulip blooms. And while it would seem that many of them, according to the gardeners of Burbiškis Manor, did not lose their early tulips earlier than usual.
Now, various tulips are planted in the clumps and beds. You can see bright yellow, red, pink, purple and others. However, you will not see some of the beauty of some early tulip varieties – a record high air temperature accelerated flowering in April and the flowers quickly scattered their petals.
« There are quite a lot of medium tulips already blooming, but they are not all. The part is blooming, say, the one that grows more on the south side, on the north side of the growing, »-explained Laura Prascevičiūtė, Director of Dauginė Museum of Culture History.

Museum staff every spring is like a test. This was not only hot but also changeable – the tulips got from the cold.
« It should be borne in mind that it was also very windy. Of course, these are huge challenges to prevent the wind from looking out, and a little bloom has changed because the average early tulip of one variety has blossomed and others are just about to bloom, » said Gardener Anastasia Ruta Abukauskaitė.
However, visitors Burbiškis Manor is also a couple of weeks before the main flowering celebration.
« I was hoping because I am already in my own home. There are early and late, the image is impressive, » the visitor said.
« We were expecting a nice image. It’s beautiful, very nice, » said another visitor.
« It’s very nice, I really love flowers, and tulips come in all kinds of colors. I even read what types are – some of the previous ones, others later, » said another.
The museum has 513 different types of tulips. The late ones have not even shook the rings.
« It is just loading the buds and barely the color of the multi -flowered tulips.

Burbiškis Manor staff is pleased that synoptics predict air cooling. The tulip unfolds and blossoms too fast – it does not show all its beauty. And many different species are preparing to bloom.
« The flowering lasts for about three to four weeks-from the very first to the last, latest tulip. We hope that this year we will have as long as possible, » said the Director of Dauginė Museum of Culture History.
« Visitors will definitely see a cut, frostbite tulip species, which are still now loading the rings, and their color palette from white to dark burgundy. There will also be late full -flowered, parrot tulips, » the gardener said.
The very main celebration of Tulip blooms in Burbiškis Manor traditionally takes place on the second Saturday of May. But at least for the time being, due to the ever warming spring, the celebration date is not planned. Long -term experience shows that the weather is changing every year – there have been a few consecutive years in equal years.
« There may be only the beginning of flowering or the culmination of flowering, because we have had a variety of scenarios in 24 years of celebration. We have had such a year-and it has recently been a couple of years ago-when the second Saturday of May, tulips barely showed color, » said the Director of Dauginė Museum of Cultural History.
Planning the celebration begins about nine months ago, and it is impossible to predict what the weather will be then. If warm and early spring will repeat, the celebration date will change in the future.
