Tuesday, June 10 again no trains again by strikes

Next Tuesday, no NS trains will run again throughout the country. The announced strikes now cover such a large area that no ‘reliable timetable’ can be offered, NS writes in a press release Sunday. Last Friday the train traffic was also completely silent due to strikes.

Earlier on Sunday, the VVMC railway union announced that on Tuesday in the Randstad, in the West and Northwest region, would be stopped. According to the railway unions, NS still does not make enough commitments, so that the strikes are expanded. « Until now, NS does not make any attempt to grant our requirements for a fair wage and better working conditions, » said VVMC director Wim Eilert to ANP news agency.

International trains unclear

NS writes that it is not yet clear what the strikes will mean for international trains and trains between Schiphol and Amsterdam. On Monday, travelers can see which international trains run on Tuesday and not, according to NS.

The work interruption applies to all NS employees, including office staff, driving staff and staff on platforms. The promotion lasts from Tuesday 4 a.m. to Wednesday 3:59 am. NS expects the timetable to be as normal again on Wednesday.

Last Friday Was stopped in the central Netherlands. Due to the mutual cohesion of train processes, NS then decided to stop the entire train traffic.

The strikes are the result of stalled negotiations on a new collective agreement for the more than 17,500 NS employees. After nine negotiation rounds, no agreement has yet been reached between NS and the VVMC, FNV, CNV and VHS unions.
