Trzaskowski won here over 75 percent votes. How will it be this time?
Suchy Las is a typical Poznań bedroom. Large companies have their headquarters here, mainly there are housing estates of single -family houses and typical suburban privates. Life revolves around the main road leading from Oborniki to Poznań and a shopping mall and large -scale shops. When we visit a dry forest in the middle of the day it is calm, you can hear mainly the sound of cars gliding via the provincial road.
75 percent residents of Sucha Forest in 2020 voted for Rafał Trzaskowski. How will it be this time?
Although less than two weeks left until the presidential election, it seems that the election campaign is absent there. With a candle, you can look for banners of candidates for the president’s seat – we noticed two houses on the fences. « Rafał Trzaskowski – all of Poland forward » – shouted the election slogan. In several places on the notice boards, someone hung small posters of Adrian Zandberg.
Is this due to the fact that the inhabitants of Suchy Forest are so convinced, who to vote for that they no longer need to be convinced? It was here during the presidential election in 2020 that Rafał Trzaskowski won record support – 75.47 percent voted for him in the commune. entitled to vote. This seems to be confirmed by the first people we talked to in a dry forest.

In the dry forest, the election campaign is invisible
– The choice is unchanged. I think that Sucha Las shows strength with President Rafał Trzaskowski. My election intentions are the same – absolutely on May 18, Rafał Trzaskowski. President man – a woman met in the center of the town. There is no doubt that it is the candidate of the Civic Coalition will win in the upcoming presidential election – and not only in a dry forest.
– We are all our heart for Mr. Trzaskowski. We voted for him five years ago and now we will also – adds a couple of pensioners encountered.
About half of the people with whom we talk declare their support for Trzaskowski. The voices of the others are divided. Not everyone is determined anymore, with whose name they will put a cross, not everyone wants to talk about it, covering the secrecy of voting.
« I certainly won’t vote for Mr. Rafał »
– I will definitely not vote for Mr. Rafał Trzaskowski. I have my opinion and I think that everyone should do that. We meet the candidates after their fruits simply, not the promises, which, as we know, are not respected – tells us a man met in front of the store.
« I wanted to vote for Mentzen first, but now I will vote for Braun. » It is closer to my views. It is more conservative. What can you expect from the president, probably only that he will represent us well, right? Well, because he has only such symbolic, he is a representative. If I were to vote for who looks the most, I would vote for this woman, but that’s not the point, right? – adds a young man met in a parking lot in front of a shopping mall.
High school graduates, who will be able to vote for the first time this year, are not worried about the elections yet. They take their maturity exams. However, they suspect that, as in previous years, the left and the Centrolevil will win again in Greater Poland.
Too much aggression, substance, too stormy – this is how residents evaluate the campaign
And how do the inhabitants of Suchy Forest evaluate the course of this year’s election campaign? Here, the sentences are also divided.
– Very turbulent. In fact, instead of focusing on voters, you are unnecessarily fed with personal candidates and this is not good for good, because in fact the election campaign is to be for us, citizens and is to convince us that this is the only candidate. Personal matters are personal matters, politics is politics, but as we see it goes hand in hand – a resident of Suchy Las tells us.
– It’s getting more and more interesting. I think that it is probably going well, because we finally went beyond such an old, boring frame simply, where nobody watched it, he was not interested – one of our interlocutors assesses the campaign.
Independent, independent Poland – this is what the inhabitants of the Sucha Las from the new president want
– The campaign is not as dynamic as it should be. These demands probably do not reach society. There are more conflict situations more often, while the content and demands of the candidates are not necessarily, so I think that sometimes voters should also focus more on the demands themselves, and not necessarily on what psychology and various conflicts between politicians suggest – adds another.
And what do the inhabitants of the dry forest expect from the future president?
– That Poland would be more independent and active and stand on its legs, not on the legs of the neighbors. We should take care of ourselves – we hear.
– It would be great if the president stood between two political forces that are dominant in Poland. And maybe he did not necessarily support one of them, and at the same time he was able to present his initiative too. So that he is not a passive person who veins or signs the laws. So that he can also lead his initiative – a resident of the commune tells us.
« We expect something to finally change »
– We expect something to finally change. That we will stop being so dependent on other nations. Because we are gone. So that this residue can be saved. How to exchange what unfortunately did not work anymore. We are not behind PiS, so that it would not be. They also got a lot there. There must be something new. PiS, for the same evil, so it has already changed – adds the marriage of seniors
But there are also such voices: « I have no expectations, I have to earn everything myself, I don’t count on anyone. I just use my right and prefer to choose less evil. »
