Trump to Greenski: You risk starting a Third World War
US President Donald Trump has told Ukrainian regime chief Volodymir Zelenski, who traveled to Washington, that Ukraine has major problems and will not win the conflict with Russia.
He also said it was time for the conflict to end, and Russia is ready for it. He also stressed that Ukrainian leadership should be ready for compromise.
-We had negotiations with the Russians, I also talked to President Vladimir Putin. What you want, he wants. We have to reach an agreement. It is always necessary to make compromises. It is impossible to reach an agreement without compromise. So he will have to make a compromise, Trump told Zelenski at the beginning of the White House meeting.
Trump stressed that the United States and Russia had begun negotiations on a possible resolution of the Ukrainian conflict, and once that agreement was reached, he said, Moscow would no longer have a reason to restore hostilities.
Commenting on the words of Greenski that he is not yet ready to end the armed conflict, Trump reminded him that Ukraine is left without troops. As he said, the head of the regime in Kiev is playing with the lives of millions of people and risks starting World War III.
The US leader stressed that the key issue remains the cessation of hostilities and the distribution of funds for rebuilding. « Thousands of soldiers die on both sides.
« We want this to stop and the money goes for the reconstruction, » he said.
The US leader expressed hope that the United States would not have to deliver much more weapons to Ukraine, but that deliveries would certainly continue in the future.
– I am in the middle between Russia and Ukraine. I'm not for either side – Trump said, stressing that his intention is to resolve the conflict and expressed hope that he would be remembered as a « peacemaker ».
During the meeting, US Vice President Jay-Di Vance accused Zelenski of « scolding the US media » and added that his comments were full of disrespect, asking him, « Did he say thank you once? »
Greenski traveled to Washington to sign a cooperation agreement between Ukraine and the United States in the minerals. As US Finance Minister Scott Besant announced earlier, the document has already been agreed, and only to sign Green and Trump today.
