Trump – Putin’s telephone conversation about Iran and Israel conflict
President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin had a 50 -minute telephone conversation on Saturday to discuss the escalating situation between Israel and Iran and the peace talks about Ukraine, the White House and the Kremlin have confirmed.
In a statement issued by the White House, Mr Trump said Putin called him on Saturday to « wish me many years, but mainly to talk about Iran, a country that knows very well ».
« We’ve been talking for a long time. We spent much less time spent talking about Russia/Ukraine, but this will happen next week, « Mr Trump said, adding that the call lasted » about 1 hour « . « He thinks, as I do, that this war Israel-Iran must end, in which I explained that his own war must end. »

Putin’s Foreign Affairs Adviser, Yuri Usakov, said that during the conversation, Putin informed Mr Trump about his recent talks with Iran and Israel’s leaders and reiterated Russia’s proposal to seek reciprocal solutions.
« The dangerous escalation of the situation in the Middle East was of course at the heart of the exchange of views, » Usakov told reporters after a conversation between the two leaders.
« Vladimir Putin, after condemning the military operation against Iran, expressed serious concern about the possible escalation of the conflict, » he said, warning « unpredictable consequences for the whole situation in the Middle East. »
According to Usakov, Putin also stressed Russia’s readiness to make possible mediation efforts and noted that Russia had proposed steps « aiming to find reciprocal acceptable agreements » during the US-Iranian negotiations for the Iranian program.
« The approach of the authorities and Russia’s interest in settlement remain unchanged, » Usakov said. Mr Trump described the regional situation as « very worrying, » Usakov said, but acknowledged the « effectiveness » of Israel’s strikes on targets in Iran.
Leaders did not rule out a return to negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program, according to Usakov.

According to Usakov, Putin informed Mr Trump on the implementation of the agreements during peace talks in Constantinople between the Russian and the Ukrainian delegation, including the exchange of prisoners of war.
Mr Trump said Putin was proceeding with the scheduled exchange of prisoners. « It carries out the scheduled prisoner exchanges, a large number of prisoners are exchanged immediately on both sides. »
« Our president noted that there was an exchange of prisoners of war, including seriously injured and prisoners of war under 25, » Usakov said, along with the expression of preparedness to continue negotiations with the Ukrainians.

Mr Trump posted some details of his conversation on his Truth Social account and said they also discussed Iran.
Before that, Mr Trump’s last well -known telephone conversation with Putin was in May and lasted two hours.
