Trump organizes iftar’s dinner, thanks Muslims for the support in the election

US President Donald Trump has claimed that his administration is keeping its promises to the Muslim community and is « engaged in relentless diplomacy to create sustainable peace in the Middle East ». Trump made these comments on Thursday as he organized iftar’s annual dinner at the White House, where he also thanked « hundreds of thousands of Muslims who supported him » in the 2024 presidential election.

« While we are in the Islamic sacred month of Ramadan, let me begin by telling my Muslim friends – Ramadan Mubarak, » Trump said.

The White House event was attended by leaders of the Muslim community, diplomats and government officials.

« The Muslim community was there for us in November and while I am president, I will be there for you, » he said during a brief speech before the meal.

« I think you know that. » « Every day, we are keeping our promises to the Muslim community. My administration is engaged in ruthless diplomacy to create sustainable peace in the Middle East, relying on Abraham’s historic agreements, which everyone said would be impossible.

« We had the four big places and nothing happened, despite the importance of Abraham’s deals. But I have a feeling that will be fulfilled very soon. It is already. People are already talking about it. They should have had a long time ago. It should have been done. » « Everything we want is peace, » he added later.

Abraham’s agreements are a series of agreements that were signed between Israel and some Arab countries during the previous Presidency Trump to normalize relations. Dinner came while the war in the Middle East between Israel and Hamas follows a fragile, US -mediated ceasefire, Qatar and Egypt.

« Every day during the holy month, Muslims fast from dawn to dusk, deepening their focus on praying and devoting to God. Then Muslims around the world unite with families and friends every night and thank the Almighty, disrupting their fast with the iftar’s dinner. We are all looking for peace. » In 2018, President Trump organized his first iftar dinner to celebrate the Muslim Holy Month of Ramadan.
