Until recently, they benefited from the fact that goods deliveries with a value of less than $ 800 were excluded from tariffs. Since the beginning of May, however, one inch of 120 percent has been due – with a minimum tax of $ 100 per package.
Now US President Trump lowered the duty to 54 percent – but the minimum tax of $ 100 remains. And on June 1st, as planned, it should increase to $ 200, as can be seen from a decree by the US president.

US consumers usually order cheap goods from Temu, Shein and Co. – which will also be much more expensive with the new regulation than before. For the online retailers, it should be cheaper to bring the articles to US camps and sell from there. Because the regular customs for products from China was reduced to 30 percent for 90 days after the agreement with Beijing.
US retailers criticized the so-called de-minimis control for duty-free deliveries worth less than $ 800 as unfair help for their Chinese rivals. Trump, on the other hand, also justified the procedure with the fact that the dangerous drug fentanyl came into the country in this way.
The Chinese online retailers increased prices in the United States in the past few weeks.
