Trump. It was « an excellent idea »
US President Donald Trump wrote in his Social Truth network on Monday that sending the national guard to respond to California’s public order disorders was ‘an excellent decision’, and ‘if we hadn’t done that, Los Angeles would have been deleted from the Earth’s face,’ reports Reuters and AFP.
California’s Democratic Governor, Gavin Newsom, had told the press a little earlier that he was going to file a trial for that measure.
Newsom challenged Tom Homan, known for the US Border Tsar, to arrest him. ‘Let go,’ the governor of the former ICE chief (Immigration and Customs Enforce, the American Agency for Border Guard and Customs) sent, now associated director of the White House for Expulsion Operations.
Homan had threatened to arrest Newsom, the mayor of Los Angels, Karen Bass and anyone opposing the law by ICE.
Asked if Homan should really arrest the governor, Trump replied, ‘I would.’
In Los Angeles, 2000 American soldiers are held, after three days of violent confrontations between law enforcement and inflamed protesters by force interventions.
The local authorities oppose the escalation of violence, but the president summarized the attitude of the Washington government towards those who set fire to cars and set fire to the American flag: ‘They spit, we hit’.
Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum condemned the violence of any of the parties involved on Monday, given that many of the protesters and those targeted by ICE are Mexican or American citizens of Mexican origin.
Mexican Foreign Minister Juan Ramon from Fuente stated in a press conference that at least 42 of his countrymen are detained in four detention centers in Los Angeles, and four others have already been deported. He said Mexican officials will continue to visit the arrested to monitor their situation.
