Trump insists that they will never have nuclear weapons
The US president today classified the Iran as “the most destructive force” in the Middle East. Donald Trump has assured that he will get an agreement that makes sure Iranians « will never have a nuclear weapon. »
« We are working (…) to achieve stability and join ourselves against the agents of chaos and terror that kept millions of hostage people. The largest and most destructive of these forces is Iran, which caused unthinkable suffering in Syria, Lebanon, Gaza, Yemen and beyond, » Trump said.
The US President spoke in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, where he begins a four-day trip through the Middle East.
Trump assured that he does not want « permanent enemies » and has been favorable to a nuclear agreement with the Iran that ensures that this country « will never have nuclear weaponry capacity. »
Hours before Trump landed in Riade, Iran admitted to accepting temporary limits on uranium enrichment, noting that conversations with the US – whose fourth round ended Sunday – have not yet entered the detail phase.
Currently, Iran enriches 60%uranium, well above the 3.67%limit established by the 2015 International Nuclear Agreement. For military use, a level of 90%is required.
On Monday, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio insisted that Iran is the only country in the world without nuclear weapons that enriches uranium to such a high level.
Started on 12 April, negotiations aim to complete a new agreement to prevent the IR from producing nuclear weapons – an ambition that they will have always denied, in exchange for the survey of sanctions that are harming the Iranian economy.
