Trump has sent observers for elections in Romania

An American delegation, led by the vice -president of the Federal Commission for elections, Republican James E. Trainor, arrived in Bucharest on Friday to observe the presidential elections in Romania.

‘We are here, first of all, to monitor the choices that will take place on Sunday. It is a great opportunity for Romania, which has been fighting with these elections, to organize them, « said the American official, according to Antena 3 CNN.

He argued that there were clearly foreign influences’ in the presidential elections of 2024.

‘The main emphasis falls on Russian interference. Tiktok is owned by the Chinese, you have a lot of influences that only come from that platform. But, to focus only on Russian interferences, I think it is better to approach this problem as a whole, as a problem of all foreign flows, « said Trainor.

Asked about the November presidential election, the American official, who is also a lawyer, said he had looked on the Constitutional Court documents on the basis of which the election annulment decision was taken.

‘It is obvious that a lot of evidence there shows that there were external interference. I think that in some of the decisions that were made, as Vice President Vance said, there are some questionable things that have happened. But in the end, it is important to discover what these foreign influences are, because the worst thing that can happen to democracies is that the external influences come and drown the voice of the people, ‘the American official pointed out.

Trainor mentioned that on Sunday the members of the delegation will be in the polling stations and will follow how people vote.

‘It is very good for the Government that he has asked international observers to come. This should trust the Romanians and encourage them to vote and participate in these elections, because the power of any democracy is that the citizens present and express their opinions, ‘said the vice -president of the Federal Commission for elections.
