Trump did not allow Israel to kill Iranian Ayatollah Ali Khamenei
US President Donald Trump has vetoed Israeli assassination plan on Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, media in the United States and Israel.
The Israelis have informed the Trump administration that they are planning a murder of Khamenei. After being informed of the plan, the White House made it clear to Israeli officials that Trump was against such an idea.
The Trump administration is seeking to avoid a wider conflict in the region, and Khamenei’s assassination plan is considered a move that would fuel the conflict and potentially destabilize the entire Middle East.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu today declined to comment on information on Khamenei’s murder plan.
« There are so many false reports of conversations that have never happened – I will not get into it. But I can tell you, I think we are doing what we need, and we will do everything we need. I think the United States knows what is good for America- Netanyahu said in a statement to US media.
The Times of Israel, meanwhile, quotes Israel’s National Security Adviser Jahi Hanegby, who denies such allegations, calling them « fake news of the highest rank ».
