Trump caught fire after the victory of a Transgender athlete

US President Donald Trump has promised consistent fines against the state of California after the victories of a Transgender teenager in a local athletics championship that have generated controversy in the United States, AFP reports.

« A biological man competed in the female finals in California, achieving great success, although I warned them not to do so, » wrote on Monday night the US president on his social social network, adding that « consistent fines » will be imposed.

AB Hernandez, 16 years old, has won two gold and one silver medals, which he shared with his competitors according to new rules, meant to end a controversy of his participation in an athletics championship on Saturday in the city of California.

AB Hernandez jumped 1.70 meters from the first attempt at the jumping test in height and divided the first place with two other athletes, who jumped each height, but with a missed attempt.

All three have climbed on the first step of the podium according to the new rules set out in the last days by the California (CIF) inter -school federation, in response to its policy that allows Transgender athletes to compete.

CIF first changed its regulations so that women, according to biological sex, are not excluded from competitions due to the participation of Transgender athletes. Then she introduced a new rule for the evidence in which AB Hernandez had qualified: the jump in height, the jump in length and triple jump, saying that any young woman, according to her biological sex, who would have won a place on the podium without the presence of the Transgender athlete, would also receive this medal.

These changes in the regulation took place after days of controversies, including a message on social networks by President Trump, who threatened to leave California without federal funding in the future if AB Hernande was authorized to participate in the competitions in question.

The Department of Justice has also launched an investigation to find out if the state of California has violated a law that prohibits gender discrimination in educational programs that receive federal subsidies.

Prior to the opening of the competition on Friday, a plane bevaged the stadium, displaying a banner that wrote ‘without boys in women’s sport’, in addition to a protest attended about ten people.
