Trump appoints Rubio for National Security Advisor

« I am pleased to announce that I would nominate Mike Volz for the US Ambassador to the UN, » Trump told the Truth Social Platform.

« Since he was in the uniform on the battlefield, Congress and as my national security advisor, Mike Volcs has worked hard to put our country’s interests in the first place. I know he will do the same in his new position, » the president said.

« So far, State Secretary, Marko Rubio, will serve as a national security advisor, while continuing to lead the State Department strongly. Together, we will continue to fight tirelessly to make America and the world safe again, » Trump said.

There has already been a precedent in US history, when the Secretary of State is also at the same time as a national security advisor. Henry Kisinger held both positions from 1973 to 1975.

CBS and other United States media reported over the day that Volcs will leave the position of National Security Adviser.

In March, Volcs came to the epicenter of the Signalg Gaida scandal when it was discovered that the Signal High Security Officials Chat Group, which discussed detailed plans for the impact on Yemen’s rebels, also made mistakes to a journalist.

Already in the first days of the scandal, there were calls that Volc and Defense Minister Pītis Heget should leave positions.
