Trump, « angry » on Putin
US President Donald Trump said on Sunday, in a telephone interview for the NBC News, that he will impose 25% to 50% secondary rates on the entire Russian oil if he believes that Moscow blocks his efforts to end the Ukraine, and that these rates could be introduced within one Reuters transmits, taken over by Agerpres.
Trump said he was angry and ‘annoyed’ when Russian President Vladimir Putin criticized the credibility of leading the Ukrainian president Volodimir Zelesnki, NBC reported.
Trump also said he intends to talk to Putin next week.
Putin suggested on Friday that Ukraine could be placed in a form of temporary administration to allow new elections and sign key agreements, which could de facto remove Zelenski.
« If Russia and myself are unable to do an agreement to stop the bloodshed in Ukraine, and I think it was Russia’s fault -which could not be -but I think it was Russia’s fault, I will put secondary oil rates, all the oil coming out of Russia, » said Trump, according to NBC News.
‘This would mean that if you buy oil from Russia, you can’t do business in the United States. It will be a 25% tariff on the whole of oil, a 25 to 50% tariff on the whole of Petroleum, « he added.
The US president also stated that these rates will be introduced within one month if there is no cessation of fire.
Trump has also said that Putin knows he was upset about him, but he added that he has ‘a very good relationship with him’ and that ‘anger is quickly scattered (…) If he does the right thing’.
