Trump and Putin take a pause to smooth differences for peace in Ukraine
The Kremlin said on Friday that Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump did not intend to talk after a visit to Washington at Putin’s investment envoy, as negotiations to end the fire in Ukraine seem to be stagnant.
US TV BBC reported on Thursday that Trump’s internal circle advises him not to talk to Putin anymore until the Russian leader is committed to a complete end of the fire in Ukraine. Putin said he was opened in principle for stopping fire, but only if a long list of conditions were met.

Asked on Friday if Putin and Trump will talk on the phone now, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters:
« No, there are no plans for the next few days. So far there is nothing in the schedule. »
Peskov, however, added that Dmitriev’s visit was an occasion for « cautious optimism ». He reiterated Dmitriev’s comments that Russia could start negotiations for security guarantees for Ukraine, despite the topic very complicated.
Despite the initial dynamics of the conversations, this week Moscow said it could not accept the US proposals for Ukraine « in their current form » as they did not address the basic issues that Moscow, according to the conflict, are at the heart of the conflict.
Over the weekend, Trump handed over a television presenter with whom he spoke on the phone that he was « angry » to Putin because of the remarks he made on the legitimacy of Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski.
