Trump accuses Newsom accommodation with rioters
US President Donald Trump has accused the governor of California, Gavin Newsom, complicity with radical demonstrators in Los Angeles. Newsom and the mayor of La, Karen Bass, « had paid troublemakers, wickers and rebellions, » Trump said without any evidence in a speech at the Fort Bragg military base in the US state of North Carolina. « You are involved in this deliberate attempt to override the federal law and to support the occupation of the city by criminal intruders. »
In Los Angeles, people have been demonstrating to Trump’s hard migration course for days. The US government has therefore now sent 4,000 soldiers from the National Guard and 700 marine fans of the regular armed forces into the Los Angeles area – against the will of the California governor Newsom. Trump has been overgiving the Democrat with severe accusations for days and recurring the 57-year-old verbally.
Among other things, he had accused Newsom of doing nothing against the protests. At times, Trump even expressed public approval for the idea of having newsoma arrested if necessary if he was supposed to hinder the work of the US government.
Trump has also publicly claimed several times that the demonstrators in LA are paid. As is often the case with such accusations, however, he has not mentioned or presented any evidence. Trump only said that the Ministry of Justice will find out who is behind it.
