Trent Alexander-Arnold decided to leave Anfield

What has been guessing in football circles has been officially today: Trent Alexander-Arnold will leave Liverpool after the contract ended at the end of June, a club in which he spent his entire career. The English national team has labeled his decision not to sign a new contract as « the hardest decision so far in life, » the French news agency reports AFP.

Twenty-six-year-old Alexander-Arnold, who is considered one of the most creative and technically versed side defenders (often playing in the federal line) in the world, is thus saying goodbye to the club from his hometown. His decision to find new challenges was expected, as his contract expires, and for a long time he has been steadily linked to the transfer to Madrid Real.

The end of the exceptional period at the Reds

Alexander-Arnold was part of Liverpool so to speak from a young age. After breaking from youth ranks, he made his debut in 2016 and quickly became one of the key players under the leadership Jürgen Clove. To date, he has already collected more than 310 appearances for Redse and scored over 20 goals. In the meantime, there was a pillar of a team that won virtually every possible laurels: Champions League (2019), English Championships (2020 and 2025), Club World Cup and English Cup. His passages, overview of play and the ability to perform interruptions have become his trademark.

He made his debut in 2018 for the English selected species and has made 35 appearances so far. It was part of the team on Euro 2020 (played in 2021) won second place.

The departure of Alexander-Arold will undoubtedly mean the end of an important period for him and Liverpool, especially since he is coming relatively shortly after the departure of the longtime coach of Kloppa and in the time of the (extremely lucky) team renewal under the new leadership, which led Redse this year to (before the season) of the surprising first place in the elite English football competition. Where he will continue his journey will be known in the coming weeks or months, but it still seems to be in the galactics.
