Tree in pot: this way it stays neat
The tendency of people to want to put trees in flower pots cannot be explained unambiguously. On the one hand, the urge for wealth plays a role. A tree in a pot is seen as tight and neat. The viewer experiences this as a well -groomed environment where nature cannot make a mess. There are the most beautiful copies in the shopping streets of neat municipalities such as Nijverdal, Amstelveen and Haren.
An additional advantage: you can always move the trees and the roots cannot grow under the tiles – so that they often damage the carefully petrified surface. That is also the reason why people with a preference opt for a tiled front garden for the flowerpot tree.
In addition, there is the decorative aspect. A tree in a colored flowerpot naturally has an above -average cosiness factor. Capelle aan den IJssel is the municipality with the highest flowerpot bomb density. There they use a trick that we also saw in Groningen at the housing boulevard. A Potomhulsel is placed around the tree, but without the bottom. This way the tree can make its roots grow in the open ground. These copies reach an impressive size.
And then there is the art expression. If you drive Schiebroek in Rotterdam, you will see fifteen colored flower pots of two meters high with currant trees in it. It is a work of art by Yvon Koopman from 2008 with the name Windowsill from Schiebroek. It’s cheerful, it’s neat, it’s cultivated nature experience.
