Travelers drove a living down and stabbed off
An American couple drove a cyclist in Reykjavik over a week ago and stung after lied to him that they were going to look for parking. In a conversation with mbl.is, the man says the incident resembles a scene from a film.
« I was cycling down the Ægisgata, just straight forward, when it meets me a big SUV, » says Búi Aðalsteinsson cyclist and the co -director of the pods Cycling.
« I had been sick for a few days, but I thought I was finally refreshed enough to sit on the bike. When I had cycled about a 750 -meter bomb on me a land Cruiser SUV, » he continues.
He says two Americans have jumped out of the car as a result, which has constantly cried out: « Oh my god! Oh my god! ».
Rolled down Ránargata
« These were just typical Americans in white sneakers, older couples. There were only the two in the car, » says Búi.
He claims to have been in court, where he was on the right way, but the car was bending into the side street over Ægisgata, where the estate was cycling.
« I thought the car would stop, because it slowed down, so I just kept going on but then the driver just runs everything to the bottom and I bombed into the barbecue on the car and roll down the Ránargata. »
Stab it
« They were crossing my road half, so they were in a blazing injustice. They stop the car as a result, as I lay in front of him, and call over and ask if it’s okay with me where I lie a bit. »
Búi subsequently claims to have been able to build up. Then the couple told him that they intended to return to the jeep to find parking and come back. However, they did not stand up to it, but stung.
« It was like a movie scene. There were people around who called the cops because it didn’t look good. The cops came and an ambulance and took an incident report.
Escaped with minor trauma
Asked about aftermath and trauma, Búi says he has escaped well and the bike too. So far, there are no signs of fracture or anything like that, but that he is beaten and swollen after the incident.
Bui says that he has been blessed with a helmet and praying for people to be careful in traffic. He says people are generally more careful about cyclists on the streets than before when Búi started cycling with power ten years ago.
Nevertheless, he says cyclists always have to be careful. He points out that tourists could be unusual cyclists, because in some places in the world there is a small bicycle culture, for example in many parts of America.
He believes that car rental and tourism companies could do better in informing tourists about the dangers and challenges that could face them here in Iceland and hope that their history will be a warning to people.
