Travel to the Golf is on? Contact organizer
Anyone who has planned a trip to Dubai or other regions on the Persian Gulf in the next few days should contact their tour operator. The German Travel Association (DRV) advises.
The background is stricter travel instructions of the foreign office, which has been advancing to the entire Golf region from all the golf region because of the mutual air raids between Israel and Iran since Friday.
Specifically, tightening concerns the United Arab Emirates with Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Bahrin, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Jordan. The security situation in the entire region is extremely volatile, it says in the travel instructions. « It can be blocked at any time. »
Organizers watch the situation
The companies in the travel industry observed the situation intensively and were in close exchange with the Federal Foreign Office through the travel association in order to be able to react to changes as quickly as possible, a DRV spokeswoman said. The security of the guests has top priority. Travelers who have booked a package tour of an organizer could rely on the well -functioning security management of the providers.
If travel cannot be carried out due to the situation, guests who have not yet started their booked trip are actively informed by the tour operator. « You have the option of rebooking a different target area or another period free of charge, » said the spokeswoman. In the event of a cancellation, they received returned funds.
The following applies to package holidaymakers on site: If premature return trips from the target areas are necessary, the tour operators with their teams take care of their guests, organize transfers and flights back to Germany. The DRV represents many travel agencies and organizers.
Difference between the security note and travel warning
A security note, as the Federal Foreign Office has given it to the countries mentioned in the golf region, draws attention to risks, but should not be confused with a travel warning.
Travel warnings are pronounced if it has to be assumed « that every traveler threatens a concrete danger to life and life, » as the Ministry explains. A travel warning currently applies to Israel and Iran.
A travel warning is not a ban on travel. In practice, however, tour operators often make them a test stone of their decisions – for example whether they offer trips to a country. In the event of an incoming travel warning, you can usually withdraw from previously booked package tours without cancellation costs. The travel warning is then often regarded as an indication of the presence of so -called extraordinary circumstances (or force majeure).
Even if the Federal Foreign Office advises travel to a country per se, tour operators sometimes react to this and do without offers. If you travel individually, you have to estimate the risk of wearing.
