Trains around Warsaw for the next three years!
One ticket in Warsaw’s public transport as well as trains of Koleje Mazowieckie and WKD has been in force for 20 years. Passengers who have a daily or longer ticket, senior and for children (from families with at least three children) can also travel by trains in a specific zone.
-A joint ZTM-KM-WKD ticket is not only convenience, but also measurable financial benefits. Annually, you can save up to several hundred zlotys. The aspect of environmental protection is not without significance. Rail transport is considered the most ecological – says Katarzyna Strzegowska, director of the Municipal Transport Board of the Capital City of Warsaw.
Agreements with Mazowieckie Railways and the Warsaw Access Railway were concluded for the next three years. Applies from April 1 this year. By March 31, 2028, the value of the agreement with Mazowieckie Railways is over PLN 828 million gross (this year over PLN 206 million), with WKD PLN 66 million gross (over PLN 15 million this year).
The joint ZTM-KM-WKD ticket applies in a zone, which reaches several kilometers outside Warsaw. Inhabitants of municipalities neighboring the capital can reach one of the stations connected to WTP, change to the tram, bus, subway and go around Warsaw. It is all the more favorable for them because, thanks to municipal payments, they can encode metropolitan tickets (30- and 90-day) at a lower price.
The green and white trains of the Masovian carrier stop in the heart of Warsaw, at the Śródmieście station, as well as near the station of both metro lines: Centrum, Dworzec Gdański, National Stadium, Wilen Dworzec, Młynów. KM trains are a great complement to urban communication both in the center of Warsaw and on its outskirts. They run to Wawer, Białołęka, Targówek, Ursynów, Ursus and Italy.
The connections of KM complement each other with a fast city rail and reach further into the province. Since 2009, they reach Pruszków, Płochocin, Chotomów, Nieporętu, Zadrińiec, Sulejówka (Miłosna), Śródborowa and Zalesie Górny. On common sections of KM and SKM routes, where there are the most passengers, trains at stations appear more often.
No wonder that such combined travels are very popular. In 2024, over 41 million passengers benefited from the journey by rail as part of a joint ZTM-KM-WKD ticket, i.e. by approx. 5 percent. more than a year ago. Wax
