An intense search had a tragic ending in southern Sweden late Monday night.
A two -year -old boy who was reported missing in the city of Laholm earlier in the day has been found lifeless in a nearby stream.
The alarm went off when the boy disappeared from his home, which immediately triggered an extensive police action. Local officers were assisted by rescue crews, while the area around the family’s residence was meticulously searched both on foot and with technical equipment.
The traces led the patrols to a stream close to the boy’s home where he was found lifeless. A rescue helicopter team was quickly called in and flew him to the hospital in an attempt to save his life, but the doctors’ efforts were in vain.
