Tragedy while burning grass in Lesser Poland. A body was found in the fire
A tragic fire in Sanka near Krakow. Firefighters fought with fire digesting meadows. When the flames were managed, a macabre discovery was made in the fire. It was too late to rescue.
Sanka. Fire near Krakow. A man is dead
On Monday, March 10, around noon, a dramatic report on a fire of grass near Krakow reached the service. The surrounding Volunteer Fire Brigades from Krzeszowice and Sanka were the first to rescue.
They quickly arrived and saw that there was a trapped person between the flames. Firefighters tried to get to it and in parallel called to the place a helicopter of the Air Ambulance Service. He was already flying to the sled, but he did not take the burned. The first rescuers who reached him after extinguishing the fire found the death of a man

A body of an older man was found in the fire. The corpse was charred.
The victim is a man around 80 years old. Medical rescuers found death and abandoned resuscitation. This is the first grass burning victim this year. We are constantly appealing to the inhabitants of Lesser Poland not to do it. Unfortunately, appeals do nothing
– Onet told young Captain Hubert Ciepła, spokesman for the Provincial Commander of the State Fire Service in Krakow.
The prosecutor's office took care of the man's death. Investigators work on site. They will determine the circumstances of the tragedy.
Firefighters constantly call not to burn grass. This destroys nature and takes life from animals, and is also deadly dangerous to man. Just a moment for the fire to cut off the escape path.
