Tragedy on the cable car. The prosecutor’s office examines the causes of the accident
The tragedy took place early afternoon on Thursday, April 17. Around 15.00 one of the ropes on which the Monte Faito cable car was on. Several cabins with 16 people on board were imprisoned in various places on the route.

The mayor of Castellammare, Luigi Vicinanza, said that the traction rope had broken and therefore an accident occurred. For now, it is known that one of the deadly victims is a queue employee, engineer Carmine Parlato. The identities of the others It has not been disclosed yet.
Nothing was imprisoned in the cabins on the route. They were drained down on special chairs.
