She recalled that she visited the injured Macedonian citizens at the Pirogov Hospital in Sofia, noting that progress was made in their condition.

-If the Bulgarian citizens in Sofia, Plovdiv, Varna waited with rows to give blood and help, I had duty to visit the injured at the hospital first. I also have no words about the Minister of Health who welcomed me, both for the director of the hospital and the more deficit that was there, and I met Macedonian doctors working in the hospital. I had the opportunity to see the parents as well, the good news is that there is a lot of progress, I think it will be even greater these days, so that was the main topic of the meeting with Radev – she said, adding that the tragedy brings people together and that citizens will not forget their solidarity.

The president said that the meeting also discussed the problem that exists with Bulgaria.

-We also talked about the Akaba process, but also about our problem that exists political. This is not the time or place, but we have concluded that ministers and presidents need to be met, but most importantly you journalists and people from culture, students, to see that Bulgarian progress is ours, that regional progress is ours – our president said.

The president stressed that compromises are possible and that he expects a step forward on the issue.

-We represent the citizens, my legitimacy springs from the citizens and as a professor of constitutional law I cannot forget about the theory of the mandate -that I have the right to do what I have been given a mandate in the elections from the citizens, but of course there are possible compromises here I expect to step down -the president underlined.
