Night from Friday to Saturday, 4/5 April, in Rheine (North Rhine-Westphalia) was not calm. A truck driver rushed through the streets of the German city. The officers wanted to stop him for control. However, he wasn’t going to stop.

A 32-year-old Pole sat behind the wheel of a truck. The man was driving a « dangerous way ». He disregarded the signal to stop and moved abruptly.
During the escape, he often exceeded the permissible speed. He was driving at a speed of about 100 km per hour In a place where there is a limitation of up to 50 km per hour. He drove through the intersections in a red light.
When the German services managed to stop the truck, the driver tried to escape with a walking escape. The 32-year-old was aggressive. He resisted the incapacitation. According to German media, the police used a stun gun and a club.
Soon the health of the detained Pole has deteriorated significantly – according to the content of the police report. The man lost consciousness and stopped breathing. An ambulance was called.
Policemen, and then rescuers resuscitated the 32-year-old. The driver was taken to hospital. The man died in the facility.
The prosecutor’s office ordered an autopsy. On Monday, April 7, partial results were published. The report indicates that there is no connection between the death of the 32-year-old and the police intervention.
According to witnesses, the driver could take intoxicants before driving. Toxicological tests are not yet known.
