Traffic restrictions in the capital


The Road Brigade informs that, from Friday to Sunday, there will be traffic restrictions on certain arteries in the city center, as a result of cultural, religious and sporting events, some being dedicated to the Child’s Day.

*Saturday and Sunday, the City Hall of Bucharest organizes, through Arcub, ‘open streets – Bucharest, urban promenade’ on Calea Victoriei, the segment between Dacia and Splaiul Independence, without affecting road traffic in intersections, between 09:00 – 23:00.

On these sections will be carried out activities dedicated to the general public: mini street concerts, theater and dance performances, workshops for children, lively statues, photo studios.

During the instituted restrictions, the crossing on Calea Victoriei will be allowed, at the intersections with Bd. Dacia, Str. Ştirbei Voda, Str. Ion Câmpineanu and Regina Elisabeta Bd. The restricted perimeters will be properly surrounded, so that in the car crossing areas the pedestrians are directed to the sidewalks, respectively passes for pedestrians.

Alternative routes:

– Victoriei Square – Lascăr Catargiu Boulevard – Roman Square – Gheorghe Magheru Boulevard – Nicolae Bălcescu Boulevard – University Square – IC Brătianu – Unirii Square – Splaiul Independence;

– Victoriei Square – Str. Buzești – Str. Berzei.

*On May 31 and June 1, between 10:00 – 22:00, Proedus – Center for Educational and Sports Projects Bucharest will organize the event ‘Open streets – Bucharest, Urban Promenade’ on Str. Bârcă, the segment between Dumbrava Nouă street and Calea Rahovei.

In this context, the traffic of vehicles will be restricted, starting on Friday, 22:00, until Monday, 06:00.

On these sections, activities dedicated to the general public will be carried out: street concerts, theater and dance performances, children’s workshops, games, recreational and sporting activities, lively statues, artists and urban creators as well as relaxation areas.

*On Saturday, between 07:00 and 18:00, the sports event called ‘Parade of small cyclists – West Side Kids Race’ on the Taberei Boulevard will be held, the road segment between Valea Ialomiței street and Valea Argeș.

For the proper conduct of the event, between 06:00 – 23:00 the traffic will be restricted on the Drumul Taberei Boulevard, the road segment between Valea Ialomiței street and Valea Argeșului, without affecting the intersections.

*On May 30, between 08:30 and 13:30, at the headquarters of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Revolution Square, the « Open Day for Children » event will be held, consisting of technique exhibitions, vehicles and specific means, as well as interactive activities.

For the smooth running of the event, the road traffic will be restricted between 06.00-16.00 on Str. Academy between Str. Dem I. Dobrescu and Str. Ion Câmpineanu.

*On May 31, between 09.00-16.30 the educational-sports event ‘Yolo Jersey’ will be held, on the following route: Parking of the National Library-Mircea Voda Bd. Pedestrians to the Constitution Square (affecting a traffic band) – Unirii Boulevard – Mircea Voda Boulevard – Parking of the National Library.

Circulation restrictions will be set up on the competition route, as well as on the streets accessing in this section, as follows:

– between 07:00 – 18:00, on Mircea Voda Boulevard, between the Mărășești passage and the Unirii Boulevard;

– between 07:00 – 11:00, on Unirii Boulevard, the segment between Alba Iulia Square and Rond Constitution Square without affecting road traffic in intersections;

– between 07:00 – 14:00, on Unirii Boulevard, the segment between Unirii Square and Alba Iulia, without affecting road traffic in intersections;

– Between 14:00 – 17:00, on Unirii Boulevard, the segment between Unirii Square and Nerva Traian Boulevard, without affecting road traffic in intersections.

*On Saturday, the cyclist event ‘Hemophilia bike – today you pedal in my place, we pedal together’ will be organized.

Between 12:00 – 2:00 pm, during the event will make a bicycle tour around the Parliament Palace, on the 1st lane, in compliance with the road rules, on the following route: Alveola Izvor Park – United Nations – Right Bd. Libertăţii – Right Calea 13 September (Francophoniei Square) – Darcare Calea 13 September – Right Piata Str. Izvor – United Nations Bd.

*On May 30, between 4:00 pm and 22:00, respectively on May 31 and June 1, between 10:00-22:00, the cultural-artistic event called ‘West Side Flow Fest’ will take place, consisting of the arrangement of floral workshops, competitions, shows, themed floral arrangements and tents on the road (the road between the road Brașov and Poiana Muntelui street) and in the Road Taberei Park.

For the smooth running of the event, the road traffic will be restricted on the Road of Taberei, both directions, the road segment between Brașov street and Poiana Muntelui street, starting May 30, hours, until Monday, 05:00.

*On Saturday, between 11:00 and 15:00, the Evangelical Association of Romania will organize a public meeting and a march, according to the following program:

– between 11:00 – 11:30, the meeting of the participants in the parking lot in the Constitution Square;

– between 11:30 – 13:30, carrying out the public and short speeches in the parking lot in the Constitution Square;

– between 1:30 pm – 14:30, the movement of the participants on the 1st band of traffic, on the following route: the parking of the Constitution Square – Unirii Boulevard – return to the intersection of Unirii with Splaiul Independence, without affecting the intersection – BD Unirii – Final Parking in the Constitution Square.
