Traffic in the North: Denmark Prime Minister Frederixen arrives on Greenland on Wednesday
Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederixen will visit Grenland from April 2 to April 4 to talk to the new Government of that semi-automatic territory, said the US interest in control over the Arctic Island on Saturday.
« I look forward to continuing our close collaboration between Greenland and Denmark, » Frederixen said in a statement.
During his visit to the US military base in northern Greenland on Friday, US Vice President JD Vance accused Denmark of not doing a good job in preserving the safety of the island and suggested that the United States would better protect the strategically located island.
He gave his remarks a few hours after Greenland formed a new wide Government coalition, led by Jens-Frederika Nielsen, who called Denmark his closest ally.
Frederixen, who said she was on Greenland citizens to decide on her future, said Nance’s description of Denmark on Friday.
« I have the deepest respect for the fact that Greenland’s people and Greenland politicians are carrying out of great pressure on Greenland, » she said in a statement on Saturday.
« This is a situation that calls for the unity of political parties and countries in the Kingdom. »
