Tradition is the basis. Family Folk Festival Trail / Day will take place in the new Teika in Riga
For the second year, the festival is organized by the Culture and Folk Art Center Roll and a set of folklore Garataka With the financial support of the Riga National Municipality, it is one of the events of the Riga family month. The festival’s plan is to bring the world of folklore closer to today’s hasty rhythm of life and through the tradition of showing families as a wonderful way to spend an exciting and interesting time together.
From At 12 noon, there will be a wide and diverse music program on the fountain stage, which will feature a variety of traditional music from all regions of Latvia and the influence of contemporary music. Folklore sets will perform Ruffle from Iecava, Ceiruleit from Livani, Scans and Garataka From Riga, as well as associations that add traditional music to the rhythms of world music – a musical association Trio Bille, vocal trio Calm and special guests from Finland Melkutus Partywhich connects ancient Karelian dance melodies with the sounds of electronic music.
From 12.00 to 17.00 Specially designed activities in the festival area you will be able to get to know the important elements of folklore tradition – to try the traditional musical instrument sound, to explore the essence of the masking tradition, to try and make masks on their own, and get to know the tradition of Ūsin and Pentecost in a free atmosphere. A special place will be for the games and play them.
Meanwhile Fantadrome in the grass Struggle Everyone is invited to a meaningful conversation – here from 12.00 to 17.00 will host an exploratory council with folklore researcher and musician Aida Rancan. Discussions with experts will trade topics such as traditional celebrations and contemporary, interpretation, stylization, deformation and authenticity and simulacri folklore.
The festival will be full of a fair, where many manufacturers, craftsmen and craftsmen create their products in family companies. Foods and drinks for different tastes will be offered.
