In a letter to Committee I, the trade unions are the alarm about persistent IT problems and other internal troubles within state security in a letter to State Security. Knack and Le Soir write that Thursday.

At the beginning of 2024, trade unions ACOD, ACV, VSOA and Sypol sometimes found a letter to the Committee I, which checks Belgian secret services on behalf of the Parliament. Then, according to the Moustique magazine, the trade unions were concerned about an internal reorganization in the State Security, but also about the new ITLAS computer scenform, which would be « not reliable ».
« A year later we have to conclude that the situation has not been substantially improved, » the letter said that the Common Trade Union Front sent on March 21. « The new IT platform (Atlas), which has been introduced at the same time as the organizational reform, is still not reliable. »
According to the trade unions, a « chaotic working environment » has an impact on the motivation and well -being of the staff in state security. They also point to an increase in long -term absenteeism.
Sypol, VSOA, ACOD and ACV also regret that the announced new intelligence and safety statute for staff is still not there. “This frustration within the organization, and in particular within an intelligence service, is a vulnerability factor that is the risk of insider threat (threat from within, ed.) considerably increases. ”
State security does not want to respond. During a hearing in the Chamber in mid-February, Francisca Bostyn, Administrator General of State Security, which the new model lost the proactive work of the State Security that was lost sight of. « We are now fully adjusting that. At the end of this year we have to be done with that. »
The Committee I announced that his service surveys will question state security.
