The large companies of the globe are currently flooding with their quarterly figures. Almost every day we gain more insight into the consequences of the taxing policy of US President Donald Trump.

The car industry is extra fascinating, which has been exposed to taxes for a little longer than other sectors. Many big names have already deleted or adjusted their predictions for 2025 as a result of taxes. This morning the Japanese Toyota reported that it expects a cost item of 1.25 billion dollars for April and May as a result of Trump’s trade policy. For the whole of 2025, the largest car manufacturer in the world (more than 350,000 employees) expects to achieve 21 percent less profit.

The future is very difficult to predict, Emphasized CEO Koji Sato. « But currently there are levies, and we have incorporated them into our predictions for this year. » In other words: the predictions are also based on the few information that is now.

Toyota is a large exporter of cars towards the United States. There it also has its own factories, but not enough to serve the entire market. Trump has introduced 25 percent on cars.
