Tove Alexandersson: « Taken very badly at me »

In an interview with SVT the other day, Alexandersson was asked how she looked that some Russian and Belarusian athletes were welcomed back in ski alpinism, one of the sports where the Swede itself competes.

She further writes that in the interview she tried to find that she does not judge anyone based on where she or he comes from. She sees no problem with, for example, Russian athletes who have distanced themselves from Russia’s invasion of Ukraine to compete, but « obviously on condition that they follow the rules set up by international and national sports associations ».

International Olympic Committee (IOC) decided before the Summer Olympics in Paris last year to allow some Russian and Belarusian athletes to compete under the neutral flag, if they had no connection to the Russian armed forces.
