The number of medical interventions has risen by fifteen percent in the last Easter holiday compared to last year. Mobility organization Touring reports this.

« The number of files for medical interventions rose from 393 last year to 453 this year, » said Touring. « Most incidents came from France, Austria, Italy, Spain and Thailand. »

According to Touring, Belgians spread their vacation more in recent years. Where in the past the crocus and summer vacation were very busy, the Easter holidays now also become busier. The number of interventions in ski areas also rose, where fractions and bruises were the most common problems.

Touring suspects that fewer people went on holiday by car and more by plane, since the number of technical interventions has fallen slightly. The traditional problems with technical interventions are problems with the car battery and with the tires. Touring also notes that Belgians fly to tropical destinations such as South America and Asia.

« The bad weather in Italy and Switzerland did not play such a big role in the figures, » Touring concludes. « Most holidaymakers were probably helped by the local authorities, since it is a natural disaster. »
