Toskovski: MOI will act against anyone for which there is evidence that he has committed a crime, whether in the institution or on the street
Interior Minister Pance Toskovski expects to be available to the institutions in the country and the ambassador in Norway and former Economy Minister Driton Kuci, who is one of the 19 newly suspected in the extended investigation into the fire in Kocani.
« According to what the person you mentioned said, we expect that the same time will be available to the institutions in Macedonia, » Toshkovki told a journalist’s question whether there was information when he returned to the country the ambassador to Norway, as he publicly responded and said he was returning to the country with the first plane.
Kuci responded to social media after being informed that MoI officials were at his home with an invitation for an informative conversation, and after announcing that he and other former economy ministers were detained or on suspicion of a fire in Kocani.
-I believe in justice for the common good. I will be in Skopje with the first flight – not to justify, but to confirm that transparency and confidence are the only way forward. I’m here. With a peaceful conscience, pure in front of him, with unwavering will- before God and the laws of the state- he wrote, among other things, on his Facebook profile.
Asked whether some of the people protesting for the tragedy in Kocani received criminal charges, Toskovski partially confirmed and stressed that criminal charges would be filed for all on suspicion of committing a crime.
-From the information that was shared in the public, part is an accurate part is inaccurate. Wherever there is grounds for suspicion that a certain crime has been committed, the Ministry of Interior will act and process appropriate placement to the competent Public Prosecutor’s Office. Where there is evidence of the degree of suspicion we will process appropriate procedures … In the present case I could not specify, but in general, wherever there is evidence that a certain crime has been committed by anyone, whether sitting on a chair in a framework of an institution or whether. Because once and for all in this country we must all agree whether we will respect the rules of the game or not respect them. If we want to have a state we must respect the rules of the game- said Toskovski at today’s joint press conference with Public Prosecutor Ljupco Kocevski.
At the press conference it was confirmed that yesterday the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Kocani in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior expanded the investigation into the fire at the Kocani Club « Pulse » for 19 new people.
