Milan ranks as the world’s second best city to visit, positioning immediately after Munich, according to a study published by the Australian site Compare the Market. This ranking is based on some criteria that favor tourists who prefer to avoid using the car.

Among the factors estimated are: bicycle paths, pedestrian areas, proximity to basic services, public safety, and the cost of public transport. Milan stands out for the staggering number of bicycle trails, full of 1,941,010 kilometers, while 80% of residents live within a kilometer from health and educational services.

Munich, who holds the first place, has 86% of the population living near car -free areas, while although public transport there is among the most expensive in the world, it is among the safest.

In third place is Warsaw, which benefits from small size and affordable transport, with a daily ticket of just 3.50 euros. Also, 74% of its population lives near quiet cars without cars.
