Too close to Putin, Lula does not deserve to be done Doctor Honoris Causa from the French University – Liberation
We learned with surprise and sadness that the management of our university was preparing to award on Friday June 6, in great discretion, an Honoris Causa doctorate to the president of Brazil Lula da Silva.
This honor would have taken full meaning a few years ago when Lula was imprisoned and embodied values in which our university community is fully recognized. In the current international context, this choice appears to be eminently questionable.
