Tomorrow at the ICF Commemoration for Tose Pop Simonov
In the Youth Cultural Center (ICF) in Skopje, tomorrow, May 7, a commemoration of the late Macedonian musician, composer, songwriter, arranger and music producer Tose Pop will be held at Frosina Cinema at 1:30 pm.
The event is symbolically organized exactly at the place where Tose made his first serious musical steps and noticed the first successes in the distant 1980 as a guitarist of the then jazz/symphobus band « Post script » in which he would be a top-notch musicians like Kiriljko’s top musicians.
Tose Pop Simonov will be remembered as a top guitarist who sovereignly ruled all styles and musical genres, then turned into one of the most comprehensive authors and, above all, top music producers with the biggest names in the history of Macedonian popular music.
The commemoration will be spoken by 15 Macedonian music stars, journalists, colleagues, friends, Tose’s associates with whom he collaborated and socialized throughout his life and music career. Their memories will be illustrated by a multitude of photos, videos and music pieces from the rich author-production opus of Pop Simonov.
The idea of preserving the memory of the musical genius, such as Tose, a musical legend and a wonderful man, whose work, the person, of his lucid humor and inexhaustible creativity through their memories, will remind the public: Beni Shaqiri, Dario Pankovski, Petar Georgievski – Kamikaza. Kostic, Verica Pandilovska, K-15, Igor Dzambazov, Kiril Tchaikovsky, Ena Veco, Fitz of « Cold Legs », Labina Mitevska, Risto Soluncev, Gina Papas Foxes…
The event’s narrator will be music journalist and host Antonio Dimitrievski, and the organizers are family members and some of Tose Pop Simonov’s close friends, associates and colleagues.
