« The court welcomes that Tom Waes is prepared to actively contribute to organizations that are committed to traffic victims and raising awareness about alcohol in traffic, » says Luc De Cleir, spokesperson for the police court. « For example, he can contribute to the increase in social awareness about the dangers of alcohol in traffic. However, the court does not consider it appropriate to impose this commitment as a condition in the context of a punishment with a delay. »

« He can make an active contribution to the Emilie Leus Fund on a voluntary basis or cooperate in raising awareness campaigns with regard to alcohol in traffic, » the court argues. « No follow -up by the judiciary is needed for that. »
