● What punishment will Tom Waes get after his much -discussed accident at the end of November? He will hear it on Monday in the Antwerp police court. Waes rode on November 29 with his Porsche 911 Carrera on a botabsorbearer just before the Kennedytunnel. He was under the influence of alcohol and risks a fine of up to 2,960 euros, a driving ban of 3.5 months, taking back the driving exams and an alcohol lock in his car for a year.

● On Monday, the case will be dealt with for the correctional court in Antwerp around another BV. Ex-football commentator Eddy Snelders (66) is on trial for exhibitionism, voyeurism, assault and possession of images of sexual child abuse. In theory, Snelders risks a maximum of ten years in prison.

● In the correctional court in Leuven it will fall on Monday judgment in the case of a thirties who are on trial for an attempted manslaughter with a ballpoint pen. The public prosecutor has demanded two years in prison. The defendant denied the intention of killing and asked for a re -qualification for intentional success and injuries.

● Also in Liège, the court will consider a much -discussed accident on Monday: Sofian Kiyine, former footballer from OH Leuven, is on trial after his heavy crash On March 30, 2023. After a fall -back maneuver, he then ended up with his car in the sports hall of Flémalle. The police judge previously decided not to impose Kiyine punishment, but the public prosecutor appealed. That appeal will be dealt with on Monday for the correctional court.

● On Thursday it will be exactly forty years ago that 39 people were killed in Brussels and more than 600 supporters were injured in what was later called the Heyseldrama. On May 29, 1985, the Heysel Stadium was about to welcome the final of the European Cup for national champions, in which Liverpool took on Juventus. What should have become a football party turned out to be a tragedy, when violent riots broke out between supporters just before the start of the game. Following the 40th anniversary of the Heyseldrama, a memorial ceremony and tribute to the victims are organized.

● The first of eight tunnel parts for the Scheldt tunnel departs from the Bouwdok in Zeebrugge to the goal dock in the port of Antwerp on Friday. The Zeebrugge route to Antwerp takes about 30 hours per tunnel part. The departure is the start of one of the most impressive and complex nautical operations in Flanders.
