Tom Cruise paid tribute to Kilmer Wave: ‘I wish you all the best on your next trip …’

On Cinemaaacon, an annual convention of cinema owners currently held in Las Vegas, Tom Cruise (62) promoted the upcoming movie ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,’ which arrives at theaters this summer. The actor asked the assembled to join him in a minute of silence for a deceased colleague, from the movie ‘Top Gun’, Wave Kilmer.

– I would like to pay tribute to my dear friend Val Kilmer. I can’t describe to you how much I admire his work, how grateful and honored I was to join the movie Top Gun, and then returned to Gun: Maverick. I think it would be nice for us all to keep a minute of silence together because he loved movies and gave us a lot. Just remember all the wonderful moments we spent with him. I wish you all the best on your next trip – Cruise said on the stage of the Caesars Palace Hotel.

Val Kilmer has made one of his most famous roles in the 1986 Top Guna, where he embodied Thomas « Iceman » of the Kazan, talented and confident combat pilot, who is the main rival to the young Maverick, played by Tom Cruise. His interpretation of Iceman became cult, and the film itself is one of the most recognizable achievements of the 80s.
